A hilltop settlement enclosed by two ramparts and ditches was constructed during the 6th century BC. The defences were altered when a souterrain was constructed into one of the silted-up ditches between the late 5th to early 4th centuries BC. The souterrain and hillfort ditches were filled in later during the fourth century BC but the hilltop settlement persisted into the 1st century AD.
